  1. To CM9 a0.5 or not to CM9 a0.5 – that is the question…

    Of course, I have been anxiously watching the development of custom roms for the HP Touchpad… I am really happy to see not one, but TWO releases (Alpha 0 and Alpha 0.5) of CM9 for the Touchpad so far!  Great work from the Cyanogenmod team!

    So far, I have been too gun shy to pull the trigger up fumble through the Acme2 process… With the outstanding issues list still holding the video hardware playback problems for Alpha 0.5, I think I may still hold off for a bit…

    What about you? Any casual browsers of the site rocking CM9 on their HP Touchpad?  Worth it?

    Perhaps I will have a hands-on for you this week… perhaps…

  2. Another weekend gone…

    And as you may or may not know, this is a subject I am not generally super happy about…
    Here I sit, 30 until midnight – acting as if I am a 4yr old fighting sleep.

    Unlike a 4yr old fighting sleep, I am not tired.
    I just do not want to go quickly nor quietly as my weekend is tore from me.

    We were not done enjoying each others company nor ready to relinquish our time.

    Under what authority am I being forced to forge ahead into yet another Monday?!

    A travesty, I say!

    I still assert that we ought time travel to meet with the man who originally setup the week of 5-and-2 -
    So that we may have a very direct conversation about his askew arrangement
    and impose our argument to right his horrible, horrible wrong.

    Bah. Hum. Hum and Bah.

  3. That time again…

    As I roll into day 2 of f’Unemployment, my inbox is quickly filling with auto-response emails thanking me for my application. As I am sure will occur in the coming weeks with increasing frequency, I find myself asking “how did I get here?”
    I mean, sure, I remember going to school. I remember making the drive up in hopes of finding work in the big city. I remember starting and ending my most recent 2 positions. But how did I get here? How did I get to be an educated, unemployed 29 year old unsure of what I wanted to be when I grow up?
    ‘Go to a good school and get a good job’ is what they said. What defines a good school and a good job escapes me still today – to be honest, I think this is becoming an increasingly hard thing to define as college has become the equivalent of high school and traditional ‘careers’ become merely jobs.
    As I wrestle with finding work and weigh this against incurring additional student loans in pursuit of my Masters, I have to ask – “Is there a better way?” Is there some as-of-yet unknown way that I can market my particular skills and find a rewarding career in the field that I love?
    Ok. Enough fruitless life musings – time to try and find some real (paying) work… A career? I don’t know if those exist anymore…

    Yea… so I have not been main post as I should. I also have not been taking shit for pictures in the last couples of months… Outside of that I have been on the computer alot but do not feel that I have been getting much done… so pretty much what do i write on. I started this thinking that I would have things to talk about all the time… Shit I can’t stop talking most of the time (something else I notice that I have not been doing here lately… talking….. cant think of shit). In a funk I guess. I have been happy, just unproductive, but fk it; its summer, right? I wish for out of the love of all the one eyed, kitties and puppies of the world that we would get alittle bit o rain around here….. that sounds shitty for summer but we need it….. I dont want it for drear… I want it for its water…. The river has been down so there has been poor levels for canoeing (which blows….) and without the cycle of normal rain the temp has been high and dry… 99 currently… so yea… no rain and lot o sun = no fun summer water activies… We would hit the beach but if you havnt checked out the going room rate at the beach in the area… well… yea, not really an option….
    I have been ear deep in computer development lately.. feel like I am learning the basics of everything but I guess thats part of it… Acrionscript… d/xhtml(depending…) and associates of the such (css, DOM, XML). Java and JavaScript , Ruby, abd small amount of python exposure…C++, PHP, etc..etc..etc…etc…. I feel as if I am learning alot but damn it feels slow…
    I will update this soon (or at least lie to you, now, and say I will…all 1 of you….)
    I am considering doing an interest post here every other day or so…. I real alot of tech shit and standard shit daily….not to mention the scatter of obsessive news reading…. Topic of interest… you know… not exactly for discussion purpose… its just because I go to alot of places that I know alot of people dont but between the group there is shit-pot o content of interest for everyone…. just thinking about it…. may or may not…
